My Story

Hi there! My name is Fadi Odeh, a self-taught cook and baker overall food enthusiast, and the founder of In Between Cuisine. My journey with food began the moment I uttered my first word. In a moment of jubilance, I stood on my tiny feet and declared, “Watermelon!” and proceeded to face plant into the bowl. That unbridled joy of discovery continues to grow with every new dish, ingredient, conversation, and connection.

I call what I do “In Between Cuisine,” which is an exploration into my third culture food. Bridging the Queer culinary expressions of the Palestinian Muslim family I was born into, and the many cultures that make up the backbone of the American food culture I was raised in. 

In my world, there is only one rule. Channel your Nifs* and have fun! You are only limited by your imagination. Ingredients aren't predestined to be savory or sweet, breakfast or dinner, dessert or main. There is no structured order. There are no strict rules. There are no “dead” ingredients, only fresh and dormant. Together we create and innovate, channeling energy and fusing spirit.

*Untranslatable Arabic word that encompasses soul, love, spirit, energy. An indescribable magic that makes the mundane sublime.
